PAC Meeting Minutes 4.15.10

Welcome and Introductions (what’s your middle name?)

Treasurer’s Report – $372.16 Also, taxes are DONE! (thank you, Tina H-P!)

LAC Update – May baskets for the School Board: Tues May 11 5:30-6 pm 807 Broadway – if you want to help present the baskets, tell Christy or call the main office so they know to expect you. (Or leave a comment on this post!)

Storage of PAC supplies
Everything consolidated down to two bins! Whee! Christy is keeping them for now.

Cinco de Mayo – Weds, May 5, 5:30-7:30pm at Wilder – 3345 Chicago Ave. S. Cafeteria is reserved, food is taken care of, Suzanne will be doing crafts (see flyer). Need people for two shifts – 5-6:30 and 6:30-8. Contact Suzanne to sign up. (Or leave a comment on this post!)

Speaker Event – Child Safety Workshop – “Keeping Our Kids Safe” Tuesday May 18th, 6:30-8:30pm at Wilder School Auditorium. (See flyer)

Speaker Event Idea – Stephanie Johnson on movement and brain development – possibility for Fall (Christy saw her at Dowling)

Vehicle Day – June 5th 10 am-1 pm at Sabbathani: City bus, poss. Tow truck, poss. Fire Truck and K9 Unit, Car seat safety unit booth (next year need to reserve in January), Bomb Squad vehicle, ambulance, recycling truck, garbage truck, street sweeper, poss. cement mixer, moving van, tree trimmer, log roller and arborist. (Wow!) We need Lemonade, Freeze Pops, sandwich cookies – Elise will buy at Costco. Kori will get info to Tony for formatting and distribution.

Scholastic Books – Dan is on it (for next fall??)

T-shirt sales – no gray/navy ladies’ fitted – do light blue/navy instead. Get this geared up and in place for Fall, poss. as fundraiser (?)

PAC Night Out - see evite from Heather

Elections NEXT MONTH!! – Christy will be stepping down as Chair. Secretary and Treasurer are other elected positions; also need to establish chairs for Preschool Fair and Gingerbread House at a minimum in place before we break for the summer.

Other – Tony’s wife is looking for furniture (esp. living room furniture) in good condition for their local aid project – if you have anything or know of someone who does, let Tony know.
Tony’s “Take a kid fishing” event – poss. Sat. May 8th 10-noon at Powderhorn Park, but waiting on waiver of license confirmation from state before he can make a flyer. Some poles and bait provided; otherwise bring your own.
